New release date for Highways Code of Practice

The Department for Transport has announced it has seen an “overwhelming response” from local authorities to its consultation process on the draft revised Code of Practice.

The most significant issue raised by organisations is the risk-based approach and concerns around how to implement the new strategy in their policies.

Therefore, the decision has been made to push back the release date for the final Code until the summer of 2016 in order to accommodate further amendments.

We have amended our original article to reflect this change. We will continue to support you with our series of planned highways articles.
