We're excited to achieve good things with GoodGym

  • Zurich Community Trust (ZCT) reveal new partnership with GoodGym
  • GoodGym is a community of runners, walkers and cyclists that combine exercise with doing good in our communities
  • The Covid-19 pandemic means more people across the UK need their services even more than ever

As part of our Covid-19 response we’re extremely excited to announce a new partnership between GoodGym and Zurich Community Trust (ZCT), made possible by a grant of £200,000 made by Z Zurich Foundation.

GoodGym is a community of runners, walkers and cyclists that combine exercise with doing good in our communities. They stop off during runs to do physical tasks for community organisations and to support isolated older people. Whether that’s having a prescription collected and delivered, picking up key shopping items and delivering them to their door, or helping with tasks to benefit the local community.

The Covid-19 pandemic means more people across the UK need their services even more than ever. They have 58 hubs across the UK and to keep up with demand they need more funding and more GoodGym runners signing up to help them fulfil the many missions coming their way.

In addition to the financial support offered by our £200,000 grant, Zurich employees all over the UK (of which there are currently 4,500), will be given the opportunity to become a member of the GoodGym family; helping them to reach even more vulnerable people within our communities during this time of need.

Ivo Gormley, GoodGym CEO and Founder said:

“This is a very difficult time for the health and well-being of our communities and we’re proud of how we’ve been able to respond by providing much needed support to vulnerable people. Thanks to the support of the Zurich Community Trust made possible by the Z Zurich Foundation we will be able to continue providing this support and connecting people across the UK who might otherwise be alone.”

Steve Grimmett, Head of the Zurich Community Trust commented:

“We’re so pleased Z Zurich Foundation have invested in this partnership through ZCT. Not only will we be able to help those most in need at such a critical time, but there’s huge potential for so many Zurich colleagues to get involved and help our own wellbeing at the same time.”
